After installing or upgrading Microsoft Office LTSC 2021, you might be prompted to activate it.

To activate Microsoft Office LTSC 2021, please follow these steps:

1. Connect to a campus VPN like the Library VPN or the ESP VPN
   1. How to connect to the ESP VPN
2. Wait for Office to automatically activate
3. If Office does not activate on its own, or if you'd like to manually activate Office, please follow these steps:
   1. Open the Command Prompt (no administrator required)
      
   2. Copy and paste in the following text
      

      cscript "%programfiles%\Microsoft Office\Office16\ospp.vbs" /act

   3. Wait for Office to activate
      
   4. Close the Command Prompt after you see the lines

4. If necessary, close and reopen your Office app
   1. For example, close and open Microsoft Word
   2. In the lower left hand corner go to Account
      
   3. View the license status
