If you are taking a class in the Informatics Lab and are a member of an external group (e.g. UC Extension), please follow these steps to log into a lab computer.

First time Log In

1. Follow the onscreen instructions to Log In
   Optional: Sometimes, you need to press ctrl+alt+del to get to the login screen
2. Enter your username
3. Enter in your assigned password
   If this if your first time logging in, you will be prompted to change your password
4. To change your password, select Yes at the prompt
5. Confirm your username and old password
   Retype your username and password if necessary
   
6. Enter in your unique new password and once more in the next box to confirm
   
7. Please follow these guidelines for a new password:
   
   1. Does not contain the user's account name or parts of the user's full name
   2. Must be 12 characters or more
   3. Must contain at least three of the following:
      
      1. 1 uppercase letter
      2. 1 lowercase letter
      3. 1 number
      4. 1 special character
8. Follow the onscreen instructions to continue
   You may need to press OK or Sign In, or you may need to press on the Right arrow button
9. Please do not share your password with anyone
   
   

All other times Log In

1. Follow the onscreen instructions to Log In
   Optional: Sometimes, you need to press ctrl+alt+del to get to the login screen
2. Enter your username
3. Enter in your password
4. Press OK or the right arrow button to Log In
5. Please do not share your password with anyone
