How do I activate Microsoft Office?

If Microsoft Office is asking for a product key, or for activation, please follow these steps:

If it's a new computer or a new installation, activate Office by signing in with your work or school account.

If you already have it installed and your license expired in Office 2013:

  1. Open an Office product, like Microsoft Word
  2. Go to File > Account

  3. Click on Change Product Key

  4. Click on Sign in with an active account instead

  5. Enter in your UC Davis email
    office_signin.png
  6. Select that you have a Work or school account
  7. Enter in your UC Davis credentials
  8. Sign in
